Ripples In Imo APGA Over Leo Stan Ekeh

The All Progressive Grand Alliance,Imo State chapter is unsettled over news of a pact business mogul,Leo Stan Ekeh entered with the party.

Ekeh is the founder of Zinox Technologies, manufacturers of Zinox Computers.

He is a billionaire and has been  linked to have hugely funded the party in the past in exchange for the party’s 2019 guber ticket.

But newspaper reports in Owerri quoted an aide of the business mogul saying that there is no such agreement between the party and Mr.Eke

Mr.Eke has been linked to Imo governorship contest in the past and he has consistently denied such claims.

As at press time, there was no official response from Imo State chapter of APGA on the allegation but party sources who spoke to this newspaper said the allegations “are not farther from the truth”

The party in the State is in factions and this has been attributed to the political ambitions of key stakeholders such as Chief Okey Ezeh who is widely believed to be preparing to run for Imo governorship for the second time in 2019.

Ezeh had last month provided a blueprint to salvage the decadent Imo economy accusing the Okorocha administration of incompetence.

In 2015, APGA put up a dismal performance in the Imo State  governorship election as a bitter feud between Okey Ezeh and Former Minister of Interior, Emmanuel Iheanacho for the guber ticket of the party tore it to shreds.

The seed of discord is likely to increase in the party following the ruling of an Enugu High Court which declared Chief Martin Agbaso as the national chairman of the party.

Agbaso is from Imo State and is known to have vested interest in the party Imo State.
