Chief Of Staff, Government House, Owerri,  Uche Nwosu Friday received an Hausa delegation from Bauchi State in his office.

Online photos seen by this medium showed Governor Okorocha’s son in law decked in a Hausa traditional attire which was said to be a gift.

However, reports indicate that the delegation came in preparation for Uche Nwosu to be turbaned Dan ZAKIN DASS next month inn Bauchi State by His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, the Emir of Dass.

Photos posted on facebook by one Chidi Waturuocha showed the Chief of Staff receiving, and interacting with the Hausa group after he finished dressing in the Hausa attire.

His response to the delegation was unknown to this newspaper as at the time of filing this report. This is the second time a delegation from the North has visited the most powerful man in Okorocha’s government.

Nwosu has been widely speculated to be nursing a governorship ambition in the state.

He had denied the speculations in a post on his facebook wall last week saying he has not told anyone that he wants to be governor of Imo State

He wrote on his facebook wall ” Why heating up the polity? Am I a threat to anybody? Have I told anybody that am running for Governor? Why do we spend our energy discussing issues which our votes can give us come 2019?

“Imolites are too educated and will make their choice come May 29th 2019. “Biko, umunnem” let’s hold our peace, no single individual can impose a governor on “ndi imo”.The INEC continuous voters’ registration exercise is on going let’s go and register instead of name-calling” he concluded

However, despite his denial speculations continue to be rife in the state that the young man may be Okorocha’s successor in 2019. Since such news filtered in the public domain, Uche has received unprecedented political loyalty from key stakeholders in and outside the present government in the State. He has also received ceaseless courtesy visits from women, men and youth groups.

This newspaper learnt that he also wields enormous influence in the Rescue mission government and plays a considerable role in shaping and dictating the policies of the state government.

Recently, Governor Okorocha said there will be no zoning of the office of the governor of the state and no one above 50 years will succeed him.

Uche is below 50.

In a related development, a group from his area, Nkwerre Local Government Youths Council Friday reaffirmed their loyalty and solidarity to the Chief of Staff.

The statement emailed to this newspaper reads:

“We the entire Youths of Nkwerre LGA under the auspices of National
Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN) affirm our unalloyed loyalty, support
and solidarity to the Chief of Staff, Imo Government House, Ugwumba
Uche Nwosu. He is our beloved brother and we are solidly behind him in
all his political ambitions.
Ugwumba as he is popularly known across Igboland is the pride of the
Youths and indeed the entire people of Nkwerre LGA. The name did not
just come as a mere chieftaincy title but a befitting accolade he
achieved for himself through hard work, humility and unmatchable
magnanimity. He has touched the lives of our people in no small
measures positively, at the point of our needs.
Within the last four years, more than 500 youths across Nkwerre L.G.A
have been empowered by this great son of Nkwerre LGA. This is apart
from other massive youths and women empowerments he had embarked upon
within the last five years.
Consequently, the youths of Nkwerre LGA have no other option than to
support and encourage him to do more even as he endeavours to promote
the name of our dear LGA in the comity of Local Governments in Imo
State and Nigeria at large.
The National Youths Council of Nigeria as it is known is the apex
Youths body empowered by the Nigerian constitution to supervise all
youth groups, such as uniformed youth organizations, faith based
voluntary and community youth groups in the country. It is the
umbrella body of all youths in Nigeria.
Consequently and in view of his youth friendly dispositions and
relentless efforts to actualize our dreams as leaders of tomorrow, we
enjoin all youths and politicians to join hands with the progressive
leadership of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu to advance good governance and
democracy in Imo State.
Nkwerre Youths, once more commend our trusted leader as we enjoin
other leaders to be selfless and emulate the exemplary leadership
style of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu.
Bravo Ugwumba, we would continue to cherish you as you strive to give
good governance its true meaning while we pray God to protect and
reward your kind gestures to the youths and humanity in general.

Signed
Comr. Celestine Ogueri Comr. Ugochukwu Nwosu
