As part of activities to mark this year’s Democracy Day and the two years in office of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambawal led administration, Sokoto State was agog as some projects completed by his administration were commissioned by the former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha.

The former Deputy Speaker, inaugurated two strategic road projects in the state namely; Sokoto Bye Pass-KeyStone road and Furniture Factory Road.

Expressing his gratitude, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’adu Abubakar described Rt. Hon. Ihedioha as successful Nigerian. He said, “We are pleased to have one of the most successful Nigerian political leaders in Sokoto today. Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha represents peace, unity and strong bond of friendship. With people like him, I have strong hope that Nigeria will move forward irrespective of our tribe and religion”.

In his remarks, Gov. Aminu Tambuwal eulogised the qualities of Hon. Ihedioha who served as his Deputy Speaker in the 7th Assembly of the House of Representatives. Hear him, ” You have remained an inspiration to me since our days in the House. You have shown leadership, integrity and tact where many failed. The sky is your limit. Only believe God for all your aspirations and do not despair. I’m indeed delighted to have you in Sokoto State at this auspicious time in our history”.

Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha while thanking the government and people of Sokoto for the honour done him, he said,” Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal is a man of quality. He understands what it means to embark on a project. He understands the fact that a project embarked upon should be completed on time for the people. That’s why I have come to identify with him. With the achievements I have seen in just two years, I have no doubt that Sokoto will be completely transformed in the remaining two years of his tenure.

“I thank the good people of Sokoto for believing in him and urge them to continue supporting his administration towards achieving more dividends of democracy for the good and benefit of the State”.

He was accompanied by serving and former members of the House of Representatives, Hon. Chudi Jones Onyereri, Hon. Mohammed Idris Kutigi, Chief Sam Ejiogu, Hon. Elvis Ndubueze, and a host of other associates.
