Youths of Amaigbo ancient kingdom in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State have appeal to political, religious and community leaders in Nwangele South to support the existing sharing of political offices in Nwangele LGA for the interest of justice, equity and fairness.
The youths strongly argued that the next chairman of Nwangele LGA should comes from Amaigbo based on that existing arrangement.
The apex youth body noted that House of Assembly and APC LGA chairman will remain in Nwangele South for the next two years, pointing out that Amaigbo should be supported to produce the next chairman of Nwangele LGA come September 2017.
The youths under the aegis of Amaigbo Youths Coalition (AYC) during “support Amaigbo” appeal visit to Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu on 30th May 2017 at his residence in Owerri further argued that there is need to support the unity and peaceful co-existence between Amaigbo and the people of Nwangele South.
According to the President General of AYC, Engr. Chima Ezirim, Amaigbo has never flouted the existing sharing of political offices arrangement in Nwangele, adding that it is morally wrong for any Nwangele South indigene to aspire to contest the forthcoming September 2017 chairmanship election.
“Amaigbo town strongly believe in the corporate existence of Nwangele LGA, Amaigbo town has been supporting the existing arrangement and has sacrificed much inorder to sustain it. Currently, all elective and government political appointment since 2011 are in Nwangele South. What we are saying is, give us chairman of Nwangele LGA while party chairman and House of Assembly remain in Nwangele South.”
In his speech, Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu commended the leadership of AYC for the manner they applied and reassured them that he will support the already existing sharing arrangement in Nwangele, stressing that every clan in Nwangele LGA should be given a sense of belonging politically, socially and economically.
He further charged the group to visit other leaders in Nwangele LGA inorder to achieve a consensus in September 2017 council polls in the state.
2019 Assembly seat: Nwangele deserves the best – Iwuanyanwu
The people of Nwangele state constituency have been assured of progressive, impactful and economic-oriented representation.
All Progressives Congress (APC) Nwangele House of Assembly aspirant, Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu gave the assurance while receiving award, investiture and induction as a patron of Recreation Club Owerri prison on 29th May 2017 at the club’s secretariat in Owerri.
Iwuanyanwu maintained that he will create the enabling legislative environment if elected to attract those that will transform Nwangele state constituency economically.
He argued that he has designed an economic master plan that will transform Nwangele state constituency into business and economic hub of Imo State within a short time, pointing out that Nwangele people deserves the best in 2019.
Iwuanyanwu who said that he is deeply humbled being a patron of such famous club, however commended the leadership of the club for finding him worthy of the award, investiture and induction as a patron.
Earlier in his speech, the president of the club, Cajetan Ohiri described Hon. Iwuanyanwu as a simple man, intelligent and unassuming person.
Ohiri expressed pleasure that a personality like Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu is now a member of Recreation Club Owerri prison and thanked him immensely for finding time to identify with the club.
While presenting the citation of Hon. Iwuanyanwu, Hon. Okey Udeagu pointed out that Iwuanyanwu has all it takes to represent Nwangele state constituency effectively in 2019, stressing that he has a quality and intimidating resume.
