Frontline APC Governorship Hopeful Set To Join APDA

A notable governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Imo State, is making arrangements to join the newly formed Action Peoples Democratic Alliance, APDA.

The politician is very much popular in the State.

Reasons for his planned defection is based on growing worries over the overwhelming control Governor Rochas Okorocha has on the All Progressive Congress, APC in Imo State.

Okorocha controls the entire APC party structure in the state. This is the source of worry for the governorship hopeful who feel he has no chance to outsmart whoever Okorocha fields as governorship aspirant for the APC governorship primary.

A source close to the intending aspirant said “Presently, as the APC is constituted  in Imo State, the party structure from the ward to the state levels is controlled by the governor”

” Even if there is congress later, what guarantees do we have thay it will be free and fair and how sure are we that the party leadership in Abuja would not pander to the wishes of Okorocha who is the only South East APC governor”

These developments are strongly considered as huge stumbling blocs on the path of the governorship aspirant who comes from Okigwe zone and is making a fourth journey in the governorship race.

The option of APDA is said to be very attractive to the politician because he will pick the governorship ticket of the party with less or little  hassles.

Some of the governorship aspirant’s political associates have already switched over to the new party and further consultations are ongoing to aid his smooth cross over to the new party.
