Read Full Statement:

Nobody or group of persons under the disguise of campaign against corruption will be allowed to cause mayhem and distabilize Imo state come July 3,2017.

We have drawn the attention of the IGP and DG-SSS to the plans by certain disgruntled politicians and Gubernatorial aspirant to heat up the polity, cause breach of peace and public order, destroy government, public and private citizens properties, cause mayhem and distabilize the state to make it ungovernable from July 3,2017. No responsible government and pro-active security agencies is expected to allow politically motivated protest to cause catalysm in a peaceful state like Imo.

Ex-speaker Kelechi Nwagwu has never been a known activist who campaigns against corruption and bad governance in Imo state and Nigeria till the very recent times when he and his sponsors in APC are desperate to grab the soul of Imo APC steucture to pursue their 2019 governorship ambitions.

We are glad that the IGP and DG-SSS will not allow anybody or group(s) to distabilize the state on July 3,2017 hiding under the cover of peaceful protest and campaign against bad governance and corruption.

Imo Youth Platform will continue to campaign against any “pro and anti government protest” which is capable of causing chaos in the state. We will also not fail to call for the arrest of known trouble makers who are set out to cause breach of peace in pursuit of their personal aggrandisement.
