The Nigerian Senate in apparent demonstration to stand with the Nigerian people in the face of adverse economic hardship, have stepped down the National Roads Fund bill.

The bill, termed to be contentious, among other things seeks a N5 increment to the pump rice of petrol to enable raise funds to maintain the road network in the country.

Many Nigerians had opposed the bill for various reasons and this could have been a major factor that compelled the senate to stand down the bill to allow its committee on Works to carry out more work before it is re- presented.
