The Federal Government yesterday said it had released about N375.8 million for payment of 20 whistleblowers who gave useful information that led to the recovery of over N11.6 billion.

This was confirmed by the Ministry of Finance in a statement, stating that payments were the first under the Whistleblower policy. It did not disclose the identities of the beneficiaries apparently for security concerns.

According to the statement by Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun, the payment is the first under the Whistleblower policy, saying it underscores the commitment of President Buhar’s led administration commitment to meet its obligations to information providers under the policy.
