Real Madrid President, Floretino Perez has revealed why the Los Blancos failed to sign Lionel Messi.

Messi has been at Barcelona since he was 13, winning eight La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues and Five Ballons D’Or.

The Real Madrid boss admitted that it would have delightful to lure the Argentine skipper to the Santiago Bernabeu but  the move was stalled on the basis that Barcelona recruited Messi at a very tender age.

He said Madrid would have loved to have Messi but the effort ended in futility.

Messi joined Barcelona in 2001 from Newell’s Old Boys, played for the club’s junior C, and B teams before making his senior debut in 2004
