The United Progressive Congress, UPP has backed the agitation for Biafra.
The Party said the agitation was normal in the prevailing circumstances in Nigeria.
This was revealed by the party’s National Chairman, Chief Chekwas Okorie in a meeting with stakeholders of the party in Awka, Anambra State.
The party had last week said it will hand over its presidential ticket to a candidate from the South- East.
Re-echoing the stance of the party, Okorie said there were competent Igbo who could lead the nation and deliver it from its economic quagmire.
He said the Igbo had the conduced spirit to lift Nigeria because they are hardworking, creative and enterprising people.
Okorie blasted the ruling All Progressive Congress, saying the party has divided Nigeria along primordial cleavages more than any government had done. He accused the party of disintegrating the nation.
