The All Progressive Congress, APC Owerri zone chapter, has said it cannot compel those who have governorship ambitions in the party from Owerri zone to join the governorship race on the platform of the party.
This website had reported recently that despite the clamour put up by some well meaning individuals that the APC should concede it’s governorship ticket to Owerri zone, no one has indicated interest or shown up.
Chris Oguoma, Owerri zone APC Chairman told this online newspaper that the party in the zone cannot force anyone from the zone to join the governorship race.
This website had reported that some concerned stakeholders in the APC in Owerri zone are worried that despite the clamour put up by some individuals and groups that the zone should step up for the 2019 governorship contest, no one from the zone has joined the race yet.
Only Senator Ifeanyi Araraume from Okigwe zone is warming up for the contest.
Oguoma also discarded reports that the APC in Imo State is polarized along home based and Abuja politicians. He said the party is united in the state as no rift exists
