Rights activist and ace entertainer, Charles Oputa, also known as Charly boy has explained why he led a protest tagged “ Our Mumudondo” in Owerri  on Friday

He said the protest is for every frustrated, angry, oppressed Nigerian, saying he is the President of the movement.

He said for a very long time, Nigerians had suffered worrisome levels of deprivation of amenities while public funds were frittered away.

“We have been quiet for too long. We want to aggressively sensitize the people that nothing can change overnight except we make a move” he said .

The “Our Mumudondo protest” was staged in Owerri Friday as youths carried placards and singing songs to express their condemnation of the level of corruption in the country.

Heavy down pour in the city did not deter them though many say the event was not properly organized as there were low turn out of participants.
