One of the strong backers of the pro Ali Modu Sheriff group in Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma says he will not quit the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
His clarification is coming on the heels of reports that he may dump the PDP for another party.
Uzodinma was quoted by an Owerri based tabloid to have said that the judgement of the Supreme Court does affect the situation in the Imo State chapter of the party, insisting that Nnamdi Anyaehie remains the chairman of the party in the State.
He said those who are claiming to have captured the party structure forget that at the appropriate time it is only PDP members and delegates that will decide who will fly the party’s flag.
The politician said as a ranking Senator and a member of the party’s Board of Trustees, he cannot abandon a party he suffered to build.
Senator Uzodinma called on PDP members to close ranks and shun bickering.
