August 2017 has been set as deadline by the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASOB) for the mass return of all Igbos living in the North.

The group said it made the declaration in order to beat the October 1st deadline given to them by the Arewa Youths.

A release by the group’s  its Director of Information, Comrade Samuel Edesonu said the decision was taken at its National Executive Meeting which was chaired by its leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu.

He said August was chosen because it is the time activities were rife in Igboland including new yam festivals and the Women’s August meeting, and that Igbos living in the North can take advantage of the activities to relocate their families back to the South East.

It said part of the strategy to ensure compliance was get the Eze Ndi Igbos in the 19 Northern States, to begin the compilation of the names, residential addresses, villages and towns of all Igbo indigenes living in the respective northern cities.

The group said its secret security, Biafra Intelligence Agency are already in the North for the monitoring exercise, and after the September deadline for the compilation, MASSON will begin the investigation of all the Eze Ndi Igbo in Northern cities to know their level of participation.
