The Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe has told the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB,Nnamdi Kanu that they cannot disrupt the November 19 governorship election in Anambra State.

Igwe Achebe spoke when the leadership of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo led by Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene visited him in his palace.

According to him, the traditional institution in the State has backed the rotation of the governorship seat to every zone, similar to what the town union and Ohaneze Ndi Igbo had done.

He said there is no way a referendum will be held in one part of the country without carrying other parts along.

“The election must hold and nobody or group of persons will stop it. Nobody should come to the State to cause unnecessary tension” the monarch said.

In his remarks, the State Ohaneze Chairman, Chief Okeke-Ogene said they visited the traditional ruler to show respect and to carry the traditional institution along.
