Chief of Staff, Government House, Owerri, Chief Uche Nwosu has denied reports on the social media where he purportedly claimed that he will govern Imo State in 2019.
Nwosu, according to a terse statement by his aide on Social Media,Nwadike Chikezie said the originators of the false post only intended to blackmail him.
Below is full text of the press statement published verbatim titled Re: Why I Will Govern Imo State in 2019.
“My attention has being drawn to a statement alleged to be made by Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the chief of Staff to the Governor of Imo State with respect to 2019 Guber election.
“This response is not to entertain or engage in war of grammar but to simply inform you for the purpose of record.
“Its very clear that the masterminds of such unpopular piece did that in other to once again deceive and misinform but unfortunately, the public especially Imolites knew that such statement can never come from Ugwumba Uche Nwosu.
“The poorly written dead on arrival (DoA) propaganda alleged to be made by Ugwumba Uche Nwosu never existed and is not in the thinking line of the amiable Chief of staff, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, a humility personified individual who is always working hard in other to see his fellow humans smile.
“Ugwumba Uche is a leader that despite his age, both old and young accord him the maximum respect for only one reason: respect is reciprocal.
“As the Chief of Staff, he is very committed and dedicated to the discharge of his responsibilities and also service to Imolites.
“As a member of the Rescue Mission government of Imo State, the vision to contribute towards moving the State to the next level is nothing but an assignment that must be holistically and vigorously pursued.
“Those who know him so well will know that Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is a Young man who is not over ambitious and handles issues as they come.
“Ugwumba Uche Nwosu UUN is very much interested in making the best out of today and not killing today because of tomorrow.
“In the said publication, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu was accused of making statement toward 2019. I want to state here without any form of misinformation that Ugwumba Uche Nwosu did not make such statement and is only concerned with making the best of today while tomorrow will take care of itself.
“He wondered why people will be hell bent on negatives instead of putting heads together in other to move Imo state forward.
Secondary, I wish to remind those behind this act of shame to desist from such because Imolites are wiser and can vouch for Ugwumba Uche Nwosu anytime,any day.
We should never misuse the opportunity given to the society by Social Media. Its supposed to be a platform for adding values to the Society and not otherwise.
We should also remember that even in freedoms of speech/expressions, it does not support or encourage maligning or blackmailing of an individual.
As a party man and a member of Rescue Mission Government of Imo State, he owes his allegiance to the Party and is expected to promote his party at all times: Words and Action.
The obvious achievements of the present adminstration in Imo State are uncountable.
