The  Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has disqualified Akaolisa Ufodike and “barely cleared” Ifeanyi Patrick Uba for the party’s governorship primaries.

Chairman of the screening committee and a former minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Maina Waziri said Ufodike was disqualified for possessing dual citizenship. Waziri explained that Ufodike was disqualified because he was a Canadian citizen but a Nigerian by birth

Presenting the certificates of clearance to the governorship aspirants in Abuja, Waziri said a former Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, Prince John Okechukwu Emeka and Lynda Ikpeazu were screened and cleared by the party for the contest.

He however said anyone not satisfied with the exercise is free to appeal
