The PDP in Imo State has been sharply polarized between a faction headed by Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie loyal to Ali Modu Sherrif and backed by a ranking Senator, Hope Uzodinma.
The Ezekwem faction is spearheaded by a former Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and other key party stakeholders.
Newspaper reports in Owerri quoted Senator Uzodinma saying that he will continue the battle in Imo PDP until the proper thing is done regarding the state party executives.
Speaking at a meeting with factional state executives of the party at his Omuma country home, Senator Uzodinma said the Ezekwem led State executives remain illegal.
At the non elective national convention of the PDP held at Eagles Square Abuja last weekend, the party not only extended the tenure of the Makarfi led national executives to four months but also ratified the Charles Ezekwem led State Executives of the party in Imo State
