The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Imo State has suspended a former State Secretary of the party, Sir George Egu.

It also suspended Barr. Kelvin Ugwu for falsely addressing himself as the State Legal Adviser.

The party alleged that the duo were indulged in anti party activities.

In a statement signed by the party’s publicity secretary, Mr. Damian Opara, the suspension of Mr. Egu and Barr. Ugwu were suspended from the party after reviewing the plethora of anti party activities leveled against them.

He said the State Working Committee cited a recent newspaper publication written and signed by the above two persons purporting to be the Party Secretary and legal Adviser respectively, a publication which was false and intended not only to deceive the National Caretaker Committee, but also mislead and misguide the teaming members of the Party in Imo State as to who the authentic leadership of PDP is in the state.

The statement reads “The Working Committee also cited the instances where the said Sir George Eguh wrote letters to INEC in respect of the just concluded Ward and Local Government Congresses introducing different individuals as the LGA Party Chairmen in Imo State”

“Based on the above verifiable instances, the State Working Committee rose from her meeting suspending Sir George Eguh and Barr. Kelvin Ugwu from participating in the activities of the Party at all levels.
“The suspension was subsequently approved by the State Executive Committee of the Party after a thorough and painstaking review of the suspension by the State Working Committee”

“The duo of Sir George Eguh, and Barr. Kelvin Ugwu are suspended from the Party, pending their appearance before the Party’s State Disciplinary committee” the statement concluded
