More buildings will go down in Owerri, Imo State capital as the state government moves on derociously with its urban renewal programme in the city.
After the demolition of the Eke Ukwu Owere market, which caused uproar within and beyond the state, the government bullodozers moved to old stadium lane last week where mainly street traders were sacked.
The old stadium fence also went down.
A report seen by this newspaper showed that a market plaza located at wethedral road, Owerri may be affected by the ongoing demolition exercise.
There was no independent verification of this claim. A journalist based in Owerri, Mr. Collins Ughala posted on his facebook wall that the state Governor, Rochas Okorocha has ordered the demolition of the shopping plaza in front of the Dan Anyiam stadium.
