2019: Okorocha, Senator Uwajumuogu Feud Deepens

* Sen. Benjamin Uwajumuogu*

The race for 2019 Imo governorship appears to have consumed the political relationship between Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and Senator Representing Imo North Senatorial Zone, Senator Benjamin Uwajumuogu.

The duo are of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Imo State.

Uwajumuogu is a known supporter of Senator Ifeanyi Arararume who is speculated to be interested in taking Okorocha’s job in 2019. Okorocha was said to have described Uwajumuogu as an ingrate, ostensibly reacting to the Senator’s allegiance to Araraume.

To further to demonstrate his annoyance towards the senator, he was reported to have sacked the Senator as the apex leader of the All Progressive Congress in Okigwe zone.

The move is said to be a formality as the Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Acho Ihim had been co ordinating APC activities in Okigwe zone for the governor in the zone even before the relationship between Okorocaha and Uwajumuogu went sour.

Uwajumuogu has not hidden his support for Araraume whom he has openly declared his support for the latter’s governorship ambition.

Comments credited to Okorocha on Uwajumuogu had gone viral on the internet. The Governor was quoted to have said “”Sen. Ben Uwajimogu is an ingrate, he will never return to senate come 2019”
