Angry  Keke operators Thursday blocked major roads in Owerri protesting the ban on their operations. They also stormed Government House,Owerri where they expressed their grouse over the development.

They complained that they were stopped from plying some major roads in Owerri such as Wethedral and Okigwe roads  without notice. One of the Keke operators who said his name is John told our reporter  that the ban came as a surprise to them because they were assured by Governor Okorocha that the ban will take effect on December 1,2017.

The Imo State government had plans to ban Keke operators in the State and replace them with taxis.

The taxis codenamed “Taximo” have been plying the streets and roads of Owerri.
