FILE PHOTO: Gov. Rochas Okorocha And Senator Ifeanyi Araraume

A Photo of Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume exchanging an unusual handshake at the Sam Mbakwe International Airport has elicited sharp reactions on the social media.

The photo was believed to have been taken on Friday at the Airport when the Governor and his entourage were waiting for the arrival for South Africa President, Jacob Zuma.

What elicited attention on the photo was the manner of the handshake was done which looked like a “bet”.Some facebook users posted said  Araraume raised his hand so high to shake the governor to signal “the bet”that he will take over the reins of governance of Imo State in 2019.

Pro Okorocha supporters who  also viewed the photo said it was a mere innocent handshake and exchange of banter as exemplified by the governor who put up no fuss when he stretched out his hand to shake the senator.

Araraume has been a ferocious contender for the Imo APC governorship ticket and reports said he does not have the backing of the governor who is bent on installing his successor.
