A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Kenneth Nzewuji has lauded the philanthropic disposition of Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu and identified charity as the secret behind his success in life.

Rev. Fr. Nzewuji was speaking while receiving food items donated to St. Vincent the Paul Society of Owerri Catholic Archdiocese by Distinguished Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu.

He said it is not surprising the height Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu has attained in his political career in a record time, and attributed it to his love and commitment towards the welfare of the less privilege in the society.

Fr. Nzewuji who is the Chaplain of St. Vincent the Paul Society in the Archdiocese congratulated Senator Samdaddy for choosing to partner with St. Vincent the Paul in alleviating the sufferings of the poor in the society, which according to the Priest goes with spiritual rewards.

The President of St. Vincent the Paul Society in the Archdiocese, Brother Nicodemus Duru in his remarks thanked the Senator for his gesture and assured him that the Lord whom he has lended will bountifully repay him.

Speaking while making the donation under the auspices of So Others May Eat (S.O.M.E) Foundation, a Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu’s charity foundation, the Director General Prince Ken Omeka informed that the foundation was established by Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu to reach out to the poor and less privilege in the society.

Also speaking, the Media Aide to Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu, Mr. Kelechi Eke highlighted Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu’s penchant for the poor, which he stated is devoid of politics. He explained that the donation is in fulfillment of Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu’s promise to St. Vincent the Paul Society during their 50th Anniversary celebration to provide food items monthly to the Society for onward distribution to the poor and vulnerable.

He reassured the Society of Senator Anyanwu’s commitment through his SOME Foundation in partnering with the Society in achieving their mandate especially as the Society share similar objectives with his Foundation, and promised that Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu will carry the Society along in his skill acquisition programs.

Items donated included bags of rice, cartons of Idomie noodles, tubers of yams, cartons of soap, etc, and it is expected to be a monthly donation. Executives of the Society in Owerri Archdiocese as well as some staff of Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu witnessed the occasion.
