There are ripples in the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP in Imo State over the movement of some top members of the party to the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.

No fewer that 10 political heavyweights including some governorship aspirants have fled the party for APGA.

Among them include Chief Jerry Chukwueke, Barr Charlie Onyeagbako, and many others.

Also a group known as The Patriots in the PDP have indicated interest in quitting the party for APGA. The Patriots is an assemblage of prominent PDP members in the party. It was led by a Former Secretary to Imo State government, Late I.M.O Umunna.

This has unsettled some party leaders who are worried that rather than the PDP to fortify itself for the 2019 elections, it is losing key of its members to the opposition in the State.

The internal strife in the party despite the alignment of the mainstream PDP to the Charles Ezekwem leadership in the State appears not to have settled the rift in the party as some stakeholders believe that the party has been tailored for an Emeka Ihedioha governorship ticket in 2019.

APGA, according to our findings, is set to hold a mega rally in November to welcome new entrants into the party.

Efforts to speak to the State Chairman on this matter was futile.
