All Progressives Congress (APC) frontline aspirant for Nwangele Nkwerre, Njaba, Isu federal constituency in Imo State, Chief Cosmos Ndubeze Maduba Odebube has reassured the people of the constituency that he will be a major player in the House of Representatives if elected in 2019.
Odebube who gave the assurance during an interface with selected youth leaders from the four local government areas of the constituency on Saturday 25th November 2019 at his country home in Isunjaba community, however argued that with his experience and contacts in the Nigeria political system he will be a major player in the House.
He insisted that he is not a neophyte in the system, adding that he has all it takes to win the election and provide the much needed responsive and responsible representation to the people of his federal constituency.
According to him; “I have all it takes to represent my people effectively, inclusively, responsively and responsibly.
“Our intention is not to send someone who will go to Abuja and start printing complementary cards or who it will take two years to locate Wuse in Abuja, the politics of National Assembly requires more maturity, experience and exposure, unless the person is interested in his or her monthly salary. Frankly speaking without these qualities, there will be no direct impact on the constituents.”
Odebube who also commended the youths for their interest in his aspiration, further noted that; “I must tell my people the truth and I must carry them along in everything I do. I have passed through the spiritual, social, economic and political systems in Nigeria, so I will never be a push over at the House of Representatives if elected. There is need to organize our constituency first before anything and it will amount to selfishness if I refuse to serve my people at this level.”
“People shouldn’t underrate House of Representatives, the speaker of the House is more than four governors, so it is wrong for people to underrate the seat. My people should watch it, I will be more effective in the House if elected,” Odebube stressed.
Earlier, the leader of the youths, Ichie Uchechukwu Igbokwe in his speech maintained that Chief Odebube is the most fit and proper to represent the federal constituency come 2019.
He further assured him of their collectively support in all its ramifications.
