Ekwueme Died A Legend- Ihedioha

Former Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives  Rt Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has said late former Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme died a legend.

In a statement by his media aide, Chibuike Onyeukwu, Ihedioha described the late Ekwueme as an accomplished and celebrated Nigerian who was a humanist cum philanthropist who lived a life of selflessness and patriotic service to fatherland.

He said he received the news of the death of “our revered leader with great pain .

Part of the statement reads:

“An embodiment of humility, simplicity and precision, “Ide” distinguished himself in many fields of human endeavor viz political Icon, roundly educated in multiple discipline. Professionally endowed, committed Christian and a successful businessman.

“A dogged and unrepentant democrat, history will not only remember him as the leader of that defining team of eminent Nigerians (G34) but most importantly as the statesman who introduced and defined the six zonal structures in our political lexicon.

“Dr. Ekwueme, unarguably died as a legend and could pass easily as one of the greatest Nigerians that ever lived. Nigeria will miss this great man.
