The victory of the All Progressive Grand Alliance,APGA in the Anambra State governorship election has made the party to become very attractive to some top PDP chieftains in Imo State.
The PDP in Imo have been enmneshed in crisis with powerful political forces in steady confrontation with each other over who takes control of the soul of the party.
Last week, an Owerri High Court sacked the Nnamdi Anyaehie faction solidly backed by Senator Hope Uzodinma.
This further aggravated the crisis in the party as the Charles Ezekwem Executives backed by a former Deputy Speaker,House of Reps, Hon.Emeka Ihedioha seem to have shut its doors to political dissidents in the party.
With the court ruling, Senator Uzodinma is widely reported to be contemplating asking his followers to brainstorm on the option of joining APGA in the State.
This newspaper had reported last month that the Uzodinma camp may head to the APC. This may be a forgone thought considering recent political developments that has unfolded with the victory of APGA in Anambra State which may extend to Imo State in 2019.
Though this information could not be verified as at press time, there are strong indications that APGA has become the next destination of other aggrieved PDP stakeholders in the State including those outside the Uzodinma camp.
The party had last month recorded massive influx of top politicians into its fold.
Those who decamped to the PDP include Chief Jerry Chukwueke, Senator Bright Nwanne who came in from the PDP and lately a former House of Reps member,Hon.Uche Onyeagocha who was a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress,APC.
It would be recalled that Governor Rochas Okorocha was elected governor on the APGA platform in 2011. He later dumped the party for the APC and APGA as a cultural organization.
