The Arch Bishop of Owerri Diocese, Most Reverened Anthony J.V. Obinna has expressed delight with the Imo State House of Assembly and the Speaker,Rt.Hon.Acho Ihim for rallying round the people of Imo State, the South East and South-South for putting a stop to the grazing bill.
Speaking to newsmen after visiting the Speaker in his office in Owerri, Bishop Obinna said the bill if it had become law would have given impetus for the senseless murder of more people in Nigeria is highly commendable.
According to a press statement signed by the the Speaker’s media aide, he notes Rt. Hon Acho Ihim’s ability to also, (at a time when it was most needed to save the lives and properties of innocent people), galvanize and utilize conflict resolution techniques in restoring calm in a country where various ethnicities were already furiously beating drums of war through hate speeches, issuing quit notices, threatening the nation’s economic base, and so forth, gladdens his heart.
Bishop Obinna however vituperated information managers of the legislature for allegedly not informing the masses about activities of the lawmakers.
He advised them to utilize the resources always made available to them to get the Church and other publics informed about the people – oriented activities of the house.
