The palace protocol officer in the palace of HRH Eze Hyginus Ebirim and a businessman Hon. Chief Philip Mba the Eze Igwe II of Umudim autonomous community has applauded the achievements of Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State.

Chief Mba who spoke to some newsmen during the Iri-ji ceremony of Umudim recently opined that the annual Iri-ji ceremony of Umudim Ikeduru is an event to thank God Almighty for a bumper harvest and it is a sort of homecoming/reunion of Umudim Sons and daughters at home and Diaspora. Chief Mba stated that this year Iri-ji witnessed a large turnout of people because Umudim Sons and daughters are gradually cueing into the ceremony.

He further stated the Umudim Iri-ji festival 2017 witnessed conferment of chieftaincy titles to some deserving Sons of Ikeduru. According to him the chieftaincy titles being given were in recognition of achievements made by the awardees like helping to build churches, road construction, and award of scholarship to students and empowerment of youths and women in Umudim-IKeduru. Chief Mba also stated that the chieftaincy title of HRH Eze Ebirim is not bought but given in recognition of one’s achievement in Umudim-Ikeduru and beyond.

Chief Mba described HRH Eze Hyginus Ebirim as a God fearing traditional ruler who calls on God in whatever he does. He is a choirmaster in his church, a fit worthy of emulation
