In his quest to emerge the next governor of Imo State, frontline politician, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume has recruited top political heavyweights that will aid his ambition.
This newspaper gathered that the senator has not only recruited his political soul-mates across the state but has swayed top APC chieftains and even disenchanted PDP top shots who will soon cross over to the APC at the appropriate time to aid the success of his governorship ambition.
The senator who is staging a fourth come back to the governorship contest is said to have learnt from his past political experience which ended in futility and has therefore changed strategy this time in his bid to stop Governor Rochas Okorocha’s plan in installing a successor in 2019.
Aside relying on his support base in the APC which is growing in leaps and bounds, the senator has gone further to recruit notable politicians such as a former House of Reps member, Hon. Independence Ogunewe, a former commissioner of Agriculture in Imo State, Hon.Longers Anyanwu, former JAMB Board member, Amugo Ugoji, former Mayor of Owerri Zone, Chief Gibson Njemanze (Oyiga), former PDP chieftain, General Chikwe, former mayor of Orlu Zone, Chief Esom Obodo and former House of Reps member, Osita Opara for the task ahead.
Others are former commissioner of Justice and Attorney General in Imo State, Sorronandi Njoku, former House of Reps member, Hon.Ernest Ibejiako and many others.
Most of them are PDP members who have cross carpeted to the APC and have reared to work for the senator in his Destiny Campaign Organization.
