The Member representing Owerri Federal Constituency, Hon.Ezenwa Onyewuchi has been heavily linked to plans to represent Owerri senatorial zone in the Senate in 2019. Onyewuchi is a two term Federal lawmaker and has been credited with effective representation of his Owerri federal constituency.
The lawmaker is said to be making subtle plans to take over from Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu who currently represents Owerri zone in the senate.
Onyewuchi’s unique selling points are his numerous empowerment programmes for his constituents which has attracted applause and commendation from far and near. His alleged plans to go for the Senate appears to be enjoying the support of top PDP chieftains and teeming party members in Owerri zone.
Having proved to be a strong pillar in the PDP courtesy of his support for the party during its turbulent crisis, Ezenwa has earned the confidence of party members who are muting his senatorial ambition in low tones. He had donated handsomely to the equipping of Owerri zone PDP office at a stakeholders meeting of the party recently.
The lawmaker has announced his ambition but sources said a senatorial ambition is not far fetched for the House Committee Chairman on Labour who is on the verge of erecting a political structure beyond his constituency to oil his ambition.
