Governor Rochas Okorocha’s indecision in naming a successor has sent shock waves among his Rescue Mission followers and in the camps of those hoping to be named as his anointed for the plum position in 2019.

The Governor, according to local newspaper reports in Owerri had said he will shock the people of Imo State when he names his successor. His comments had triggered uncertainty in the camps of those who are strongly hoping that Okorocha has zeroed in on his Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu whom many believed is the anointed one to succeed the governor in 2019.

What strengthened this suspicion was when Okorocha announced that his successor will not be above 50 yeas old. He also said he does not believe in zoning which is a clear pointer to prove that he may want to cede the governorship back to his Orlu geo political zone where Uche Nwosu hails from.

Judging from the Governor’s latest pronouncement, it has sent shock waves across the State that none of those presently jostling for the Governor’s seat may be named as his successor.

Among those eying Okorocha’s job in 2019 within his camp include Uche Nwosu, Deputy Governor, Eze Madumere, Speaker,Imo State House of Assembly, Hon.Acho Ihim, and a former Secretary to Government of Imo State, Jude Ejiogu.

The Governor’s latest statement is an indication that none of those positioning themselves for to take over from him may not make the cut.
