There is more drama ongoing in the Imo State House of Assembly as the House made replacements and set up a committee to investigate the activities of former majority leader, Hon. Lugard Osuji.
A statement sent to this online platform this morning by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker,Marcel Ekwezuo reads in full:

HON LUGARD SUSPENDED
Triple – headed woes of misfortune seems to have befallen the former Majority leader of the Imo State House of Assembly, and member representing Owerri Municipal state constituency, Honourable Lugard Osuji.
A Mass Media release signed by Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Mr. Marcel Ekwezuo states that the ruling party in Imo State, the All Progressives Congress – APC in a letter signed by the state party chairman, Chief Dr. Hilary Ekeh wrote to withdraw Honourable Lugard Osuji and the member representing Obowo state constituency, Honourable Kennedy Ibeh from principal offices in the house.
Sequel to the withdrawal, the house today suspended Honorable Lugard from the house for two weeks and set up a committee to look into what it considered the former majority leader’s unbecoming activities in the house.
According to the statement, while Honourable Kennedy Ibeh lost his position as Deputy Majority Leader to the member representing Onuimo state constituency, Honourable Chinedu Offor, no committee of inquiry was set up to investigate him.
Similarly, Honourable Marcel Odunze representing Orlu state constituency lost his office as chief whip of the house to Honourable Dr. Uche Oguike who is now the Majority leader of the house while Honourable Arthur Egwim is now the chief whip of Imo state house of Assembly having replaced Honourable Marcel Odunze.
The committee investigating activities of the former Majority Leader have one week to submit its report to the house and it is headed by the Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Honourable Ugonna Ozuruigbo, member representing Nwangele state constituency.
