The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has assured that the 2017 christmas celebration will be the best in State.
Okorocha spoke against the background of growing complain of hardship as a result of non payment of pensioners and workers salaries.
He spoke at a Church Service at the Victory Chapel Government House to wind-up the 2017 Christmas Carol undertaken by the people of the State and led by Governor Okorocha Friday night, stating that “the 2017 Christmas will be a Christmas like never before.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemedo s said that God would make the 2017 Christmas the best ever to be Celebrated by Christians in Imo State in particular and across the nation, adding that Children of God should be focusing on the promises of God upon their lives and not on the problems confronting them.
He said “Peace shall reign in the land. And for our brothers and Sisters coming back for the Christmas, even from abroad we assure them of their security during this festive period”.
He called on all and sundry to “remember the poor and needy. Show love, give helping hands to those that are in want. That is the Spirit of Christmas and that is what Christ came for. He came and died for us that those who have no help can find help. Let’s do this to our fellow mortals as a duty we owe each other.
