House, Owerri.

The member representing Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency, Hon Ralphael Nnanna Igbokwe has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for the All Progressive Congress, APC.

His letter of defection was read on the floor of the House of Representatives by the Speaker, Hon. Yakubu Dogara.

Igbokwe’s move did not come as a surprise as he has been seen regularly in the midst of APC chieftains in Imo State.
In September, Igbokwe led some of his kinsmen on a solidarity visit to Governor Rochas Okorocha. The visit sparked some reactions especially from the PDP camp.

His defection has increased the number of APC members in the House of Representatives from two to three.
