The Imo State Government has said it has approved the release of N350 million for community Road Maintenance in the recognized Autonomous communities of Imo State.
According to a press statement signed by Information Commissioner, Nnamdi Obiareri, the funds is in line with “the letter and spirit behind the establishment of the Community Government Council (CGC) which is to fast track even development in the rural areas”
He said traditional rulers and their community Government Council members are to handle the exercise as it affects their respective Autonomous communities.
“Honourable Commissioners and Transition Committee Chairmen from each of the 27 Local Government Areas in Imo State have been mandated to supervise the Community Road Maintenance exercise in the Autonomous Communities that fall within their Local Government Areas and ensure its resounding success” he stated.
