Leadership of the All Progressive Congress, APC, from the 12 Local Government Areas, that make up the Orlu zone gathered and insisted on holding strong their political influence in Imo State politics, describing it as strategic and apt as the 2019 general elections draw near.

They made this decision at the country home of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, UUN, Eziama -Obaire in Nkwerre LGA during a Christmas visit to him.

In his opening remarks, the State Deputy Chairman of APC, Hon. Chief Ugochukwu Nzekwe, noted that the visit was to appreciate Chief Nwosu for his love to them and diligence to the cause of duty over the years, even as to let him know that they are solidly behind him in any future political ambition, having shown the capacity, leadership acumen and resilience.

“We are here today to celebrate the Christmas with our brother, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, who doubles as the Chief of Staff, Government House, Owerri and to appreciate him for the love and cooperation he has has shown to us over the years.

” There is nothing we can offer that can quantify the hands of fellowship you have extended to all us, but gathering here to celebrate with you is something that cannot be measured in any ramification and another way of letting you know that we are with you”, Nzekwe pointed out.

Chief Asika the Orlu zonal Chairman of APC, revealed the zone is in tact, united and ready for purposeful and generational change, positively, stressing, the APC Leaders and other party faithful from the zone are excited regarding the achievements and developments so far in the area in particular and the state at large.
Other leaders thanked Ugwumba Nwosu and the state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha on the giant developmental strides being witnessed in Orlu Zone, just as they pledged to apply wisdom, remaining united and politically mature when it comes to issues bothering on the interest of the Zone always.
Responding, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, who was overwhelmed with joy, thanked them for the uncommon show of love and support, even as he informed them that he would continue to use his position to attract social amenities to the zone.
Furthermore, he revealed his happiness of being a proud son of Orlu zone, describing the people of the area as those with great understanding, who are aware of when to leave politics of personal interest behind and go for common interest.
“I can’t express verbally how I feel over this visit. Actually, I appreciate it and makes me become more proud of coming from Orlu zone, because we are people of great understanding and knows when to put behind our personal interests in pursuit of collective and common interests”.

Chief Nwosu also assured them of carrying them along in the administrative activities of the state for even development of the area, noting the best life on earth is the one lived in service to God and humanity.
“I am greatly humbled and my joy knows no bound as you decided to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ with me. I can’t thank you enough other than share with you the little I have and asking God to bless you all abundantly,” he added.

Present and past Transition Committee (TC) Chairmen and their members, past and present elected officials from the party and State party officials, past and present and other party faithful were among the dignitaries in attendance at the occasion.

Highlights of the programme were the passing of vote of implicit confidence on the President of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari and Owelle Rochas Okorocha, the governor of Imo State, presentation of gifts like bags of rice, tubers of yam, gallons of groundnut oils, cows and many other food condiments by Ugwumba Nwosu to his guests in the spirit of the season.
