Ahead of 2019 general elections, the youths of Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State have collectively endorsed the aspiration of Chief Cosmas Maduba ‘Odebube’ to represent Nwangele , Nkwerre, Isu, Njaba federal constituency at the House of representatives.

The over 400 able youths from various autonomous communities in Nwangele LGA made their position known during a solidarity visit to Chief Odebube at his country home in Isunjaba on Saturday 9th of December 2017.

In a communiqué signed and presented to Chief Odebube by Sir Jerry Ukonu for Nwangele Equity Group (NEG) Hon. Mndee Onuoha for Nwangele Youth Front (NYF) and Engr. Emmanuel Amadi for MEzie Nwangele Youth Assembly (MNYA) on behalf of other members of the groups, the youths pointed out that Chief Odebube is the most fit, and proper person to represent the constituency come 2019, arguing that federal lawmaking is not for juvenile politicians.

The youths in the communiqué directed other aspirants from Nwangele and Nkwerre LGAs to drop their aspirations for the interest of equity and fairness.

According to the communiqué “We, the entire youths of Nwangele LGA are here for two reasons, firstly to show our solidarity and unalloyed support for the aspiration of Chief Cosmas Maduba Odebube for House of Representatives, secondly to call on other aspirants from Nwangele and Nkwerre LGAs to drop their ambition for the interest of equity, brotherly love and fairness. Nwangele and Nkwerre LGAs have taken their fair shares of the position and it will be morally wrong and gross selfishness for another person from any of these LGAs to nurse ambition towards that directions.”

“The House of Reps seat is not for juvenile politicians because it is where the national politics are played.

Hon. Jones has the maturity which made him to excel there but, one it will be wrong to send a baby politician to replace him in 2019, two it will be against equity for any person from Nwangele or Nkwerre LGA to think of it. We are deeply convinced that Chief Cosmas Maduba Odebube has all it takes to sustain the tempo for more positive results and impact.”

In his speech, Odebube Isu who was moved to tears by the zeal, determination, desire and dedication of the youths maintained that he is ever ready to serve his people and emphasized his covenant to carry his people along in all his decisions if elected. He noted that the people of the federal constituency should be firm, ready and willing to go with him, stressing that they know his political history and records.
