2019: Imo PDP Vow To Conduct Transparent Delegates Election, As Opara Hosts State Exco

The Imo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Hon Charles Ezekwem has assured party faithful that he will ensure that the party’s delegate election will be transparent, free and fair.

Ezekwem made this disclosure when he led the State party executive on a visit to a PDP chieftain in the State and a former House of Representative aspirant, Hon. Raymond Opara at his Avu residence in Owerri West LGA.

He called on all party leaders and members to work hard for the party. He said the All Progressive Congress, APC is a dead political party, stressing that the only opponent PDP have in the State is the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.  He said the party will field candidates that are capable of winning the delegate election and ensure that such candidates emerge victorious in the election by defeating his or her opponents in other political parties.

The party chairman also thanked  Dr Opara for his regular support for the party.

In his remarks, Hon. Bob Unachukwu,  PDP Chairman Owerri Zone said he is grateful to Dr Raymond Opara, revealing that he is the first person in Owerri Federal Constituency to recognize and host the State party executives. He said he is proud of him and assured him of support.

In his response, Dr. Opara said that he is overwhelmed with the visit of the State PDP party Exco to his house. He advised the leadership of the PDP in the State to ensure that it presents only sellable candidates during the elections and not those with questionable character, stating that this would help to give victory to the party. 

He called on all  PDP chieftains and members to be more dedicated to the party.

Opara who was a former House of Representatives aspirant on the PDP platform assured the State party executives of his support for the party. He said his support is for the growth of the party as he has always paid his dues in the party.

He enumerated some of his empowerment programmes which he has carried out which include donating  pews to CATOL Church,completion of a building for the Nigeria Police Station Avu in Owerri West LGA, sinking of a borehole at  Emekuku Comprehensive Secondary School Emekuku in Owerri North LGA etc.
