Some All Progressive Congress, APC chieftains have expressed worry over the shut out of Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and some governors elected  on the party’s platform by Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Governor Nasir El Rufai of Kaduna State.

Amaechi and El- Rufai were reported to have held consultations with some governors considered loyal to the re- election plans of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 recently.

According to the report, Okorocha and 13 APC governors are angry that they were deliberately not invited to two meetings organized by El Rufai and Amaechi all geared towards 2019 elections.

More of concern is the non invitation of Okorocha who is Chairman, APC Governors Forum and who has publicly voiced his support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s re- election in 2019.

Some APC chieftains in Imo State who spoke to this online news platform when the news broke out yesterday said it was totally unfair for Amaechi and El- Rufai not to invite the Governor to such meetings.

One of the party chieftains in the State who spoke on condition of anonymity said “The meetings were not in good faith. Why shut out the Imo State Governor who has done a lot for the APC in the South East and who has voiced his support for Buhari at private and public fora. The issue of President Buhari’s re- election should be the collective responsibility of all the APC Governors which Okorocha leads”

However, another party chieftain, Ken Njoku said the Governor deserves to to be shut out because his anti peoples policy in Imo State such as the demolition of Eke Ukwu Owerri market, demolition of buildings without compensation, ban on keke, demolition of New Market at a time traders need to make good sales during Christmas are indications that he cares less about the future of the APC in Imo State.

“Does APC stand a chance in 2019 in Imo State when you take into consideration the actions of Okorocha’s government lately. The people are angry with the party and only God will intervene to ensure we get the peoples mandate again in Imo State in 2019. How will Buhari and the APC win Imo State when the Governor is not helping the party in the State”

” What is obtained in Imo APC is the peace of the graveyard. party members are complaining of no funding, so how does the party survive the rigours of 2019 in Imo”

” Amaechi and El Rufai may have taken note of what is happening in Imo and the party and perhaps concluded that the APC may stand no chance in the State. So, why invite a governor that has failed his party” he said
