I Paid Imo Workers Xmas Bonuses On 13th December- Ohakim

by admin

Former Imo State Govenor, Ikedi Ohakim has recalled that during his tenure as Governor, workers in the State received their December salary early in the month and followed up with bonues on the 13th, 12 days to Christmas.

This is a sharp departure to the present situation where workers are paid barely few days to the yuletide.   .

In a facebook post on Sunday, Ohakim urged workers in Imo State to have faith saying “very soon as long as God sits on the throne, never again shall your salaries be cut”

The former governor governed Imo State from 2007-2011.

The Okorocha administration had slashed workers salary by 30% and sometimes owed workers salary. It had last week announced that workers were paid their November and December 2017 salaries- less than 5 days to Christmas.

Ohakim’s post read:

“My dear civil servants, have faith, soon and I assure you that very soon as long as God sits on the throne, never again shall your salaries be cut. You must receive 100% of what is due to you.

“You will once again receive your leave allowances and your overtime as had been the case before now

“You will never again go for the Christmas celebrations without your December salaries and as was the tradition before now, you’ll receive your usual Christmas bonuses #13thMonth

“Our pensioners will as always receive their pensions and gratuities. They put in their best years for us and in their old age we must make life as easy for them as possible.

“Good things will soon return to our dear state. I can feel it.

” God bless you and Compliments of the Season
