A youth group, the Eze Madumere Fans Club have called on their principal the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere to join the 2019 governorship contest.
According to a statement issued by the Deputy Governors Chief Press Secretary, Uche Onwuchekwa, the group spokesman, Comrade Udochukwu Dickson echoed the resolve of members of the club just as he poured encomium on the Deputy Governor for proudly conducting himself in such a manner that all have come to appreciate his leadership qualities, sense of humility and competence in rescue mission administration.
The group made the demand when the Deputy Governor hosted them at his country home in Achi-Mbieri Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State. Dickson noted that the Deputy Governor has salvaged the plight of the downtrodden through his empowerment programmes.
The Deputy Governor in his response, according to the statement, rather admonished them to continue in the ardent support for rescue mission government led by Owelle Rochas Okorocha, assuring them of legacies they can be proud of.
He said at the moment he is doing everything humanly possible to ensure Governor Okorocha’s administration fulfills it’s electoral promises to the people of the State, urging the group to continue to pray for Governor Okorocha with other leaders for God’s wisdom and guidance in all their decisions.
He frowned at the negative connotations associated with politicians, thereby bringing condemnation to those who are involved in partisan politics.
The Deputy Governor said he rather preferred to be identified as an administrator, which is his core area of strength since the word politician has been bastardised. He however regretted the activities of some inconsistent elements, which has negatively robbed off on good nature leaders who find themselves in partisan politics, putting everyone on the same scale of negativity.
“Please I would want to be identified as an Administrator or a Management expert because it is not only my background academically but it is what I love doing. For those of you who know my antecedent, I put things together. I plan myself and do not promise what I cannot do instead I will humbly say no to you and keep my integrity”; he enthused.
