Imo Shall Rise Again, Ihedioha Tells Imolites

Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has assured Imolites of better days ahead.

In his New Year message, Ihedioha said by the special grace of God, 2018 will be a defining year in the destiny of Imo State as it will be better than the past years.

He said “By the special grace of God, 2018, a defining year in the destiny of our dear state, will be better than the years past, if we collectively take responsibility for our destiny.

“Therefore, we must take deliberate actions as we seek answers to the Imo Question; how our resources are being utilized; the gap between promise and fulfilment and indeed the distance between our dreams and the reality of now.

Ihedioha said as a critical stakeholder in the Imo project, he is convinced that Imo State which hitherto was a model in Nigeria, has in few years, not recessed in its steady decline to a failed state, leaving citizens stranded while groaning in despair.

Part of the statement reads “I am confident that with focused planning and judicious deployment of the financial, human and material resources of the state, Imo will rise again from the ashes of contrived deceit that has mortgaged the future of our unborn children as the present administration in the state is doing”

“Enough is enough! Our destiny is in our hands. We cannot afford to give up on our state or seen as onlookers while our common heritage is plundered. Collectively we can cause a positive change towards liberating our dear state; creating the environment for job opportunities and realistic empowerment of our teeming youths and women; we can procure durable roads that will not be washed away by the first rains; we can provide technical education that will turn our young ones into entrepreneurs instead of being chronic job seekers; we can provide reliable portable water instead of propaganda taps and we can indeed make the investment climate conducive enough for enterprising compatriots instead of scaring away our brightest over the same misguided sense of insecurity and self aggrandizement. Above all, we can pursue an agricultural revolution that can put enough food on our tables”

“This is our message of HOPE and RESTORATION for 2018. This, as a matter of urgency, is an express call to duty; a summon to LIBERATION which can only be achieved through our selfless resolve to recover and rebuild our dear state” he stated
