Imo APC Feb.Congresses: Party Chieftains, Governorship Hopefuls Embark On Talks With Party Members,Stakeholders

With Congresses in the All Progressive Congress expected to hold in all state chapters of the party Imo State inclusive, top chieftains of the party have resorted to series of meetings, consultation s and talks with party members.

The Congresses will elect officers for the party at all levels. Reports say the successful elected Ward and LGA Executives will constitute delegates to the Party’s Primary scheduled after the APC national convention in June.

This newspaper gathered that several meetings have been going on between party members and those who have an eye on one elective position or the other.

The party’s governorship ticket appears to be the key interest for all stakeholders in the party.

Governor Rochas Okorocha has been receiving APC members from various local governments at his Ogboko country home in Ideato South LGA.

Members of the party from Owerri municipal and Ezinihite Mbaise LGA were in Ogboko today to show solidarity to the Governor.

Reports say the camp of Senator Ifeanyi Arararume is not also resting on its oars either as they are also reaching out to party faithful from various local governments.

Owerri municipal chapter of the party are expected to see the Senator on January 4.

However, no one in Okorocha and Araraume camps  admitted that the meetings were in line with the upcoming congress.

” We came to show solidarity to the Governor ” said an APC chieftain from Owerri municipal.

Governor Okorocha’s Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemedo in a post on INNONEWS.COM.NG what’s up platform confirmed the visit of Ezinihite Mbaise chapter to the Governor in Ogboko.

The APC congress is a huge determinant  factor for Okorocha who is bent on installing his sucesor and for Araraume who is staging a fourth entry into the Imo governorship race.
