Following his numerous philanthropiam towards the growth and development of humanity and Christendom at large, the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Diocese of Orlu has appreciated Hon. Charles Abia with a special merit award and appreciation certificate.
The well attended historic event took place last Sunday at the Auditorium of St. Mark’s Church Umulem-Okwudor cum Anglican church of Pentecost Nkume in Njaba Council Area of Imo State during the church service marketing the 7th anniversary of the inauguration of the church at Umuelem as a parish.
Presenting the award, the Parish Priest, Rev. Canon Ernest Ebenu PhD, said the award is given to the successful young entrepreneur “in recognition of his quality contributions, towards the growth and development of Umuelem Parish”.
Ebenu cited the book of Hebrew 6 vs 10 saying that “for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which you shown towards His name” while advising the recipient not to relent in his services to humanity and the church.
Responding, Hon. Charles Abia expressed surprise over the award noting that all his philanthropic gestures are part of his commitment to appreciate Almighty God from lifting him from nobody to somebody.
Abia assured that the award has merely spurred him into helping humanity and called on all illustrious sons and daughters of the ancient clan to always invest in God’s project noting the benefits to be enormous.
While thanking the leadership of Anglican Communion for appreciating all his sacrifices, he insisted of his commitment to serve God with his soul and resources.
