Clergyman Worried Over Nigeria’s Future

Speaking to journalists after his homely to mark Christmas and New-year celebration recently, Arch-Bishop Ibemere lamented over the gruesome killings going on across Nigeria. He specifically mentioned the killings of innocent people in Benue, Kaduna, Taraba, Nasarawa, Rivers states  and called on relevant authorities to stop the gruesome killings and wanton destruction of people’s properties.

Bishop Ibemere stated that God directed that “Thou shall not kill” but people are now killing their fellow human beings as if they created them. He lamented the rate of hardship, sufferings and agonies in the land and called on the leaders to endeavour to use the nation’s resources available to touch lives of the people. He wondered why Nigeria that is blessed by God is allowing her citizenry to pass through untold hardship to the extent that most Nigerians cannot afford a meal a day.

Bishop Ibemere called on leaders to always seek the face of God in all they do because Nigeria’s situation require great prayers. He posited that if we refuse to pray for Nigeria and their leaders, more calamities will happen in Nigeria.

The Bishop called on President Buhari to look into the problem of fuel scarcity and poor electricity supply in Nigeria to enable move Nigeria forward.

According to him a nation that produces oil in quantom cannot be passing through  lingering fuel scarcity and that without good supply of electricity, Nigeria cannot grow economically.
