Christie Opara of Umuororonjo community in Owerri Municipal has been elevated to the rank of Navy Commodore.
Reports said she was enlisted in the Nigerian Navy in 1991 as member of direct regular Course and was commissioned the same year.
She is the first female nurse in Nigeria to get to the rank of Navy Commodore, a one star General. She is also married in Eziobodo community in Owerri West LGA
