Charly Boy Set For Good Governance Lecture In Imo

Ahead of the 2019 general elections and as politicians across party lines get set for campaigns, a notable and formidable promoter of civil society organizations and National leader of “OurMumudondo Movement” Charlie Boy Oputa will deliver a lecture aimed at educating and sensitizing the people on the importance of good governance.

The lecture will also focus on the need to imbibe and nurture it as a culture at a Good Governance Summit  organized by the Imo state chapter of OurMumudondo movement.

In a  press statement issued in Owerri and signed by the state Publicity Secretary of the movement, Comrade Nathan Anaele the summit is intended to harvest opinions from all segments of the society, feature paper presentations by civil society groups, leadership experts, attract leadership oriented individuals groups and professional bodies.

The programme which is expected to have as it’s main feature, a “wake up charge” on the electorate by the convener of OurMumudondo Movement, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa is aimed at ensuring that the electorate make informed  choices in the coming primary elections of political parties and the 2019 general elections.

According to the statement, the aim of the summit is to harness opinion from all facets of the society, with emphasis on generating workable template for eradicating poverty and hardship as well as set the parameters that will ultimately determine the favourable outcome of the next electoral process in Imo state in particular and Nigeria in general.

“OurMumudondo Movement will also, use the opportunity of the proposed summit to honour some prominent and notable lawyers in recognition of their valiant defence of vulnerable persons in our society by offering “Pro Bono Services”.

Those to be so honoured include a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) who is also a University Don and former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, in Imo state, Prof. Francis Dike and Human Rights Lawyer, Barr. Uche Wisdom Durueke along with three others, to be unveiled by the committee.

The release said, the date and venue of the event will be made public soon and inputs are welcome from people as a communiqué, on the way forward will be issued at the end of the summit.
