The Archbishop President of Sabbath community church Nigeria in Aboha Ohii in Owerri West Local Government of Imo State, His Grace Most Rev Andrew Ibemere (JP) has called on churches across the country to pray in order to avert bloodshed and calamity in the country.

He said the nation stand the risk of further bloody clashes, urging Christians to speak out and stop keeping quiet.

He said there is need for Christians to embark on “radical prayers” and fasting to curtail the rampaging evil that looms in the country.

Speaking at the 2018 thanksgiving service of the Sabbath community, the cleric lamented over the gruesome killings going on across the country particularly the clashes in Benue, Taraba, Nassarawa and Rivers States, calling on President Muhammadu Buhari and State Governors to intensify efforts in stopping the killings and wanton destruction of properties by herdsmen who value cows more than human lives.

He said despite God’s instruction that “Thou shall not kill”, there is so much killings in the land.

He lamented the rate of hardship, suffering and agony in the land and called on the leaders to endeavour to use the nation’s commowealth to touch lives of the people. He wondered why Nigeria that is blessed by God is allowing her citizenry to pass through untold hardship to the point that most Nigerians cannot afford a meal a day.

Bishop Ibemere called on leaders to always seek the face of God in all they do because Nigeria’s situation requires great prayers.
